Prior to landing on Basketry as the main passion in my making, I’ve explored many types of art and craft. As a basket lover and collector I taught myself how to make upright stake and strand baskets in the early 1980’s. Initially I produced a line of functional hand dyed and woven baskets to sell at craft shows. I still enjoy making strong and useful baskets using round reed that can be passed down for generations to come.
Over the years my passion for Basketry has grown to include a variety of mixed media in order to combine craft with concept. I love to experiment with ideas and materials in order to transform traditional basketry techniques into vessels that tell a personal story.
